Olivia Gazalé is a philosopher, writer, and keynote speaker.

She taught philosophy in preparatory classes for the French grandes écoles (Intégrale and Lycée Sainte-Barbe, Paris) from 1989 to 1997, then served as a lecturer at Sciences Po Paris (political theory courses) from 1998 to 2008. In 1997, she co-founded Les Mardis de la Philo, a lecture series featuring leading philosophy professors and experts selected for their talent as engaging speakers.

She has also been an editor and columnist for Philosophie Magazine and Director of Programs at CERDI (Centre d’Études et de Réflexion des Dirigeants).

 

Olivia Gazalé has published numerous works, including Le paradoxe du rire. Et si ce n’était pas toujours drôle ?; L’amour de l’amour (contribution to the exhibition catalogue Amours at the Louvre-Lens); Le mythe de la virilité, un piège pour les deux sexes; Lettre à D. Histoire d’un amour (contribution to Le moment Gorz); Je t’aime à la philo; Quand les philosophes parlent d’amour et de sexe; Le rêve du corps parfait (in Figures de l’artifice); Les formes de la couleur (text for the exhibition catalogue of the same name); Cent lettres à Dieu (collective work edited by René Guitton); and Le Temps, une approche philosophique (collective work edited by François Busnel).

 

Since its launch in June 2024, she has been in charge of the Philosophy pages of Vieux, a magazine co-founded by Antoine de Caunes and Romain Jubert.
