Olivier Costa is a political scientist specializing in European integration and representative democracy. He is a CNRS Research Director at CEVIPOF, the Center for Political Research at Sciences Po (Paris), and Director of Political Studies at the College of Europe (Bruges), an institution where the elites of the European Union are trained.

Olivier Costa is a political scientist specializing in European integration and representative democracy. He is a CNRS Research Director at CEVIPOF, the Center for Political Research at Sciences Po (Paris), and Director of Political Studies at the College of Europe (Bruges), an institution where the elites of the European Union are trained.
 
He teaches European and parliamentary affairs at several European universities and has been a visiting professor in the United States, Brazil, and Japan. He works as an expert for EU institutions, French authorities, and various think tanks. He is the author of 10 books, has edited 25 collective works and special journal issues, and has published over 150 articles and book chapters. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of European Integration.

He is highly involved in disseminating scientific knowledge through numerous conferences for diverse audiences and media activities. He is an expert for APM. In his lectures and training sessions, he discusses the functioning of the Union and the prospects for European integration, the crisis of democracy and the rise of populism, the flaws of the French political system, and Europe’s place in the world.
 
Additionally, his book “Treasures of 20th Century Automobiles” combines his two passions, cars and drawing.
