Crowned World Champion in the 400 meters hurdles in 1997 in Athens, he is the holder of the European record established in 1995 and won the European Championship in 2002.

“I was not the most naturally gifted in my generation. I had to put in a tremendous amount of work to make up for a less formidable physical potential, which often led to injuries.” Despite these obstacles, he exhibited a strong mental fortitude, always managing to stay in the spotlight and eventually serving as the Captain of the French athletics team.

He won a silver medal at the World Athletics Championships in Paris, in the remarkable 4×400 meters relay, and participated in the organizing committee for the Paris Olympics.

A proponent of the principle “a healthy mind in a healthy body,” Stéphane Diagana has retired. An ESSEC graduate and captain of the French team, he now gives lectures on surpassing oneself, sustainable performance management, corporate social and societal responsibility, as well as on managing and harmonizing a team.

He makes his expertise available to support and enhance your company project: challenge, sports competition, implementation of CSR actions, or any other project you may co-develop together.
